I was a Witch for Halloween!

Abby: “Look at that picture! That’s me being a scary witch for Halloween!”

James: “Well, you got on a broom...”

Abby: “Witches get on brooms, just like I did!”

James: “They generally don‘t lick them, though.”

Abby: “Don‘t worry, I won‘t hog it all. Want some?”

James: “It‘s a broom…”

Abby: “Uh, I think we’ve established that! Anyway, I have to snack on something yummy, since you won‘t let me eat any of that candy you have left from when those kids came to see me last night. That was odd, them just showing up like that…”

James: “That was trick-or-treating, when little kids go from house to house and get candy.”

Abby: “And to say hello to me! I love how everybody that comes over does it just to pet me and see how I get so happy that I howl and dance around.”

James: “That‘s… yeah, you‘re right.” [I don‘t have the heart to tell her otherwise. ]

Abby: “So, anyway, I dressed like a witch, and I’m going to let you lick my broom. It’s only fair that you give me some of that candy now.”

James: “Nope--candy is bad for dogs.”

Abby: “But I‘m a witch-dog, and the magic in my tummy will protect me!”

James: “No.”

Abby: “But-“

James: “No.“

Abby: “Aw! This is the rose bush thing all over again! ‘Don’t chew on rose thorns, Abby. Don’t eat candy, Abby. Don’t ride the cats, Abby…’ You don’t like me, do you?”

James: “Never say that! If I didn’t like you, then I’d let you do whatever you want, and you’d get hurt.”

Abby: “There you go, being Mr. Snooty-Pants Human again… So you really do like me?”

James: “Of course.”

Abby: “And that‘s why you post these conversations we have?”

James: “Y-Yeah…”

Abby: “Huh, because I was starting to think that all these are just a cheap scam to technically stick to your New Year’s resolution to post something every week, when that was actually supposed to be a motivation for you to write more about Connie, Republicat, and all those people…”

James: “I… um…”

Abby: “But that couldn’t be it, because that would mean you’re lazy, mopey, and spent too much time this month watching Moarte and Halloweenie on that funny website you go to. Lazy, mopey James, a big cheater when it comes to his New Year‘s resolution…”

James: “You know what? Why don’t you go eat some of that candy, after all.”

Abby: “Thanks! And you can lick my broom, maybe while you actually write something for a change instead of ogling Obscurus Lupa and JesuOtaku, huh?”

James: “Bon appétit, furball.”


Yeah, I feel bad about that, but I hate it when my pets know better than me. First Burke, now Abby, of all creatures! Wonder how long before there’ll be puked-up Snickers and Twix all over…

Well, at least I have a picture and story in the works showing how the Crimson Conservative is going to prepare for election day, so that’s something.
