Why do I Suddenly Feel a Draft...?

Another piece of art from the guy I call Artist X, who has distanced himself from his older--but still very impressive--work. This one shows the Crimson Conservative in a scene of… well, I don’t know. Both pictures are beautiful (look at the musculature in the second one! ), but what is going on in this sequence? I’ve come up with a possibility or two, and would like your feedback:


ACME flame-retardant clothing does not work exactly as advertised.

A variation of the “Very funny, Scotty--now beam down my clothes!” joke has been played on my supersoldier.

Connie entered battle so drunk that the first panel is only what she thinks she’s wearing, while the second is the sad reality.

Some lucky kid actually got a real pair of X-ray specs by sending in a coupon cut out from the back of a comic book.

Connie has finally agreed to wearing a new costume, thus upping my future pageviews by a hefty margin.

Someone stole the blueprints for my latest invention, the CEAL-5000! Oh, the thought of the Costume-Eliminating Anti-superheroine Laser falling into the wrong hands is too much to bare! (Bare… get it?)


Any other ideas? is where this takes place, a city so jam-packed with super characters of all kinds that stuff like this probably happens quite a bit, but other than that, I am as mystified as you are. And if anyone wants to take the CEAL-5000 idea and run with it, please do.
